The ICTST department is currently part of UAS, but is expected to merge with OUCS and BSP to form a consolidated central ICT department. This transformation is being carried out through the ICT Central Coordination Programme (ICCP) and creation of the new department is expected to happen in August 2012. For those reasons this planning document is a light touch review based on current plans and projects that might change as a result of ICCP activities.
The mission of the ICTST department is to provide high-quality, modern and cost effective IT services to the staff in the Bodleian Libraries and University Administration and Services (UAS)
The ICT Support Team (ICTST) is responsible for desktop computing and some infrastructure services in UAS and the Bodleian Libraries. This includes services critical to the functioning of University, i.e. electronic resources in the Bodleian libraries, training rooms in OUCS and data and desktop computing services for staff in UAS and Libraries. The ICTST department consists of 32 members of staff and is responsible for the management and support of approximately 2,500 desktop computers, 78 servers and numerous peripheral devices (i.e. printers, scanners, etc) at 61 distinct sites throughout the University.
