ICT STRATEGY STEERING GROUP
Work Task Group E
Outcomes of the meeting held on 11 November
Present: Professor Jeffreys (in the chair), Dr Biggs, Mr Brett, Dr Lee, Mr Perrow, Dr Rudgewick-Brown, Mr Shaw
The group should feel free to work from a blank sheet of paper, using present structures as a checklist without being bound by them.
At a policy level, there needs to be a central body with the means to encourage best practice across the University without pressurising (or appearing to pressurise) others to participate. The system should evolve organically, with people buying into it when they perceive potential benefits.
All existing models and systems should in principle be open to scrutiny and potential revision by the strategy development process.
Action points
Ask David Perrow for an outline of the decision-making process for the new Library Management Process.
Ask departmental administrators to provide the remit of their IT committees.
