Oxford's IT in Teaching and Learning Awards 2008
Evaluation criteria
All submissions to the IT Awards competition will be required to fulfill the following eligibility regulations:
- Intellectual Property Rights:
Permissions must be attained for any submission that uses text, images, or other materials owned by another source. Please refer to these IPR guidelines for more information.
- Accessibility:
All submissions must have made reasonable provision for disabled users, as outlined by the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act (SENDA). Please refer to this Accessibility report for more information.
In addition, submissions will be evaluated within their category according to the following criteria:
- Content (40%):
The information contained within the site should be substantial in amount; clearly written; and authoritative, in terms of meeting acceptable academic standards. It should also address a gap or need within its field of study.
- Design (40%):
This area is composed of three strands of about equal weighting:
- appearance: attractive, interesting, good layout of design elements
- navigation: easy to move around the site
- innovation: imaginative or well-integrated use of the medium for presenting the content
- Overall value (20%):
The site should be generally useful by its target audience.
Preference for monetary awards will be given to sites created without the assistance of professional or dedicated web designers or developers. However, there will be an additional (non-monetary) prize awarded to an assisted site of high merit.
